My hubby had come here many, many times in the 60s and 70s. He said they have the best rice balls! An old-style Sicilian restaurant. Their menu is extensive – he started out with a vastedda sandwich; I had the broccoli rabe. Both were delicious! Then, he had to have the panelle special (rice ball) which was outrageously good & I had the pappardelle alla boscaiola that was awesome! Too much food!!! I had half of it wrapped.
As we were leaving, hubby recognized Frank, the owner, and Frank remembered him from all those years ago!!

The fact these guys have been in business since 1904 says it all. Every time I go to Brooklyn this is my treat. Manhattan Specials on draft and a menu that keeps it simple, and delivers every time. I had the amazing pork chop pizziaola with rigatoni which you can cut with a spoon its so tender. Panelle special and the best rice ball you can get anywhere. Friendly service, simple unchanged formula for more than a century. You just don’t get any better than this. Makes me want to move to South Brooklyn. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING Thank you

This is a terrific, old style, red sauce Italian/ Sicilian restaurant. It is family run, has a long history, very friendly and atmospheric with delicious food. Dont miss the rice balls.

Focacceria con più di cento anni di storia. Consigliato da chi ha nel cuore l’Italia, Ferdinando’s e’ un locale tipico, con interni rimasti indenni negli anni. Ottima la vastedda e le panelle, speciale un cocktail chiamato Manhattan. Il proprietario è il valore aggiunto: cerca di difendere, anche con l’ospitalità, quella bella italianità che ci rende unici nel mondo

Ferdinando’s is a neighborhood Italian restaurant, featuring Sicilian specialties, that has been in business since 1904. They offer indoor dining, following all covid protocols, as well as an outdoor space in the garden. Atmosphere is casual. One excellent specialty of the house is pasta con sarde , pasta in an unusual sauce with sardines, which was excellent. Linguine with mixed seafood is another great choice. House wine is reasonably priced; we chose Chianti, which was excellent. Their cappuccino was very, very good. Parking is on the street. Highly recommend.
